Solid Rock
Torrance
Hedrick Torrance Hedrick grew up in Lynch Station,
Virginia, and started his musical career in Bluegrass, Country and then went
to Rock and Roll music with various bands in the area more than 30 years ago.
For some reason, God had other plans for Torrance’s musical style and
about ten years ago he began singing Gospel music. While Torrance has a humorous side, he is serious
about spreading God’s gospel. For about three years he tried to form a
gospel group that he could be a part of, and he finally succeeded in bringing together the gospel
group Solid Rock around 2005. He provides the lead and tenor vocals with the
Solid Rock singers. Audiences at performances by Solid Rock soon learn that
Torrance truly enjoys singing and praising Jesus. Torrance also has his own CD, The Lighthouse, and
the song by the same name is one of his most requested as is The
Devil’s in the Phone Booth. Torrance is a veteran and owns Hedrick’s Plumbing and Construction Company in Lynch Station. He has one daughter, two stepsons, and three grandchildren.
